Donald James Cash, 79, of Marysville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 after a battle with Parkinson’s.
He was born November 22, 1933 in Port Huron to the late Colmer and Mabel Cash.
Mr. Cash was a graduate of Port Huron High School, Port Huron Junior College and the University of Michigan. He was a principal engineer at Detroit Edison for 33 years and also worked at Nevada Power and Light for five years, with Entergy in New Orleans and as an electrical consultant. He was a member of I.E.E.E., Toastmasters, Past Commodore of the Edison Boat Club and attended Blue Water Christian Church. Mr. Cash loved to travel and anything to do with computers.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Wilma; four children, Vickie (John) Hurley, Kenneth (Joanne), Dale (Lynn) and David (Judy) Cash; a special niece whom he raised, Marilyn (Bill) Hopkins; stepchildren, Tracey (Kevin) Bittel and Duane (Cindy) Hensley; ten grandchildren, Jodie (Jason) Hansen, John III (Monica) and Janae Hurley, Katherine Cash, Roger, Gary and Whitney Cash, David Jr., Jared and Daniel Cash; step grandchildren, Nicholas and Zachary Gutschetl and Joshua and Elizabeth Hensley; and great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Noah and Hunter Hansen, Jack, Julia and McKenna Hurley and Bryce Hurley.
Visitation will be 2-5 & 6-9 p.m. Monday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in Blue Water Christian Church, 1331 Chestnut St., Port Huron. The Rev. Juanita Compton and the Rev. Kim Nash will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Water Christian Church or Blue Water Hospice Home.
