Floyd A Horley
Floyd Arthur Horley, 90, of Fort Gratiot died Friday, September 20, 2013.
He was born July 26, 1923 in Cochrane, Ontario to the late Carmen and Rachel Horley. He married Sally Ann Koob on October 28, 1967 in St. Clair.
Mr. Horley served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. Following the war, he worked as an instrument technician for Esso Chemical Company. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Willow Ridge Golf Club. He enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles, reading, keeping up the lawn and gardening, especially cultivating his great tomatoes. He was an avid New York Yankee fan, watching games whenever he could.
Mr. Horley is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sally; five children, Dianne (Val) Tessier, Sandra Horley (Julian Nieman), Teresa Horley, Michael Horley and Dean (Julie) Horley; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Horley and William (Vicki) Horley; two sisters, Fran (Jack) Godley and Ruth (John) Sainsbury; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Jim Koob; two brothers, Al Horley and Wallace Horley; and two sisters, Jane Horley and Evelyn Dellow.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend John Hitzeroth will officiate.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Blue Water Hospice.
