John Malachi

August 30th, 1928 to September 20th, 2013
John Allan Malachi, 85, departed this life on September 20, 2013. He was born August 30, 1928 in Port Huron to the late John and Lucille Malachi.

He was united in Holy Matrimony with Yvonne Blanchard on July 7, 1957. To this union two children, Anthony and Andrea, were born.

John was educated in the Port Huron Area Schools and served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He retired from New Haven Foundry in 1981. He was a faithful member of Faith Christian Community Church until poor health prevented him from attending. His sense of humor and his frankness was respected by his family and friends. He loved fishing and cooking Bar-B-Que for his family. While in the service, he was an automobile mechanic and as a result spent many enjoyable hours in his pole barn, repairing and adjusting engines. His “Grands” were his pride and joy and he delighted in their achievements.

He leaves to cherish his memory his adored and devoted wife of 56 years, Yvonne; loving son Anthony (fiancée Linda Mitchell) Malachi and daughter, Andrea (Charles) Wansedel; three beloved grandchildren, Anthony Malachi, Tairan (Morgan) Cooney and Adriana Jordan; a great-granddaughter, Ariana Malachi; a great grandson, Dean Cooney; two nieces, Laurena (Carlton) Hill of Tucker, Georgia and Sharyn Malachi of Stone Mountain, Georgia; cousins, Marilyn (Preston) Yancy, Althea (Rick) Foster, Roberta Floyd, Patricia Leonard, Carolyn (Dwight) Blackledge and Ronald Scott; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in Faith Christian Community Church with Dr. Jeffery Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am until the time of service.

Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force.

Memorials may be made to Blue Water Humane Society.
