Barbara Suliot, 69, of Ruby, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013.
She was born on November 25, 1943 in Escanaba, Michigan to the late Ralph and Bertha Patt. She married William John Suliot on February 19, 1966.
Barbara graduated from Mercy High School in Detroit. She received a BSW from Michigan State University and earned a Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University. Upon retiring from her career as a clinical therapist, she remained active in St. Christopher’s Church in Marysville, volunteered at Mercy Hospital, and loved taking her certified therapy dog “Gracie” on visits.
Barb is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Brian Meulebrouck of Oakland Township; son, T.J. Suliot of Mt. Clemens; grandchildren, Chloe, Chase and Caden; brother, Tom Patt; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 2-9 pm Wednesday in the Marysville Funeral Home. At 6:30pm the St. Joseph Mercy Auxiliary “Heavenly Hounds” Therapy Dogs will perform a pass and review. A prayer service will follow at 8 pm.
Mass of Resurrection will take place at 12 noon on Thursday, September 26, 2013 in St. Christopher Catholic Church, Marysville. The Reverend Arthur Baranowski will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Therapy Dogs International or the American Cancer Society.
