Evelyn R Fleckenstein
Evelyn Ruth Loxton Fleckenstein, 87, of Port Huron, died Thursday, October 10, 2013.
She was born October 4, 1926 in Owendale to the late Henry and Erna Taylor. She married Phillip “Paul” Fleckenstein on May 6, 2002 in Port Huron.
Mrs. Fleckenstein retired from Bindicator Corporation in 1989 after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered at the hospital for many years as well as the DARES shelter for abused women and children. She also was a member of the Blue Water Aerie #3702 F.O.E. She enjoyed traveling, flowers and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; seven children, Connie Lozano, Lucy Loxton, Michael T. Loxton, Cindy (Joe) Beck, Steven (Wendy) Loxton, Tim Loxton, and Patrick Loxton; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; three step-children, Paula (Gerry) McCarthy, Anne (John) Ferguson, and John (Susan) Fleckenstein; 5 step-grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; three sisters, Sharon Skagg, Sandy Niehorn, and Pat Mow; a brother, Robert Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Gerry Dale Loxton; a grandson, Marty Lozano; a sister, Onalee Welsh; and three brothers, Richard, William & Tyke Taylor.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. The Reverend John Hitzeroth will officiate.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Pallbearers will be Midge’s family.
Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or Blue Water Hospice.
