Edith Braden

December 18th, 1919 to October 18th, 2013

Edith Braden, 93, of Kimball Township, died Friday, October 18, 2013.

She was born December 18, 1919 in Thompsonville, Illinois to the late John “Oakley” and Mary Ellen Lager. She married Floyd D. Braden on April 5, 1941 in Palmyra, Missouri and they enjoyed 67 years together before Floyd died on December 11, 2008.

Mrs. Braden retired from Soss Manufacturing Company. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Thompsonville, Illinois, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Donald Braden of Tigard, Oregon; a daughter, Judy (Jim) Armstrong of Kimball; two grandchildren, Timothy Armstrong of New Baltimore and Michael (Alejandra) Armstrong of Houston, Texas; a great granddaughter, Gabrielle Marie Armstrong; a nephew, Ed (Pat) Lager of Atlanta, Georgia; and a close family friend, James Wetter of Marysville.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raleigh “Gene” (Lorene) Lager and Dale Oakley (Edith) Lager.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
