Obituary

Marie E. Lang, 77, of Marysville, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014.

She was born January 20, 1937 in Emmett to the late Joseph and Mary O’Connor. She married James Lang on July 5, 1955 in Emmett. He died March 18, 1996.

Mrs. Lang was a 1954 graduate of Marysville High School and operated a sewing and alterations business out of her home for over 40 years. She volunteered as a sewing judge for 4-H. She was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church.

She is survived by three children, James (Janice) Lang and Christopher Lang, all of Marysville, and Andrea (Harold) Brecht of Capac; seven grandchildren, Christine (Jeremy) Griffis, Tiffany (Darren) Palmer, Christopher (Rhyan) Lang, Corey Lang, Kayla, Dakota and Dylan Brecht; great grandchildren, Gracie and Mackley Griffis, Evan and Samantha Palmer and two on the way; four brothers, Leo, William, Tom and Gary O’Connor; and two sisters, Donna Pace and Irene Gajda. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Lang; four brothers, Francis, Joseph, Donald and Robert O’Connor; and three sisters, Margaret Gibbard, Helen MacPherson-Sullivan and Isabelle Atkinson-Borino.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Lang will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend Arthur Baranowski will officiate.

Burial will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Kenockee Township.
