Cecile Lorraine Ling

Cecile Lorraine Ling, 86, of Clyde Township, died Saturday, September 17, 2016.

She was born March 26, 1930 in Detroit to the late Ernest and Hermeline Houle. She married Gerald D. Ling on June 21, 1952 in Emmett at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Mrs. Ling was employed with Prestolite Wire for 40 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, working in the garden, camping, cooking, baking and canning. She was also great at working on cars and was a true jack of all trades.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gerald; daughters, Diane Werner and Martha (Timothy) Carnahan; grandchildren, Theodor G. (Yvette) Werner, Candace (Gary) Van Luven and Christina Carnahan (fiancé, Dan Pilgrim); great grandchildren, Kayla Bowers, Andrea Werner, Andrew Thick, Alec Solomon, Nathanial Carnahan, and Blake, Ariauna, Sara, Nate and Chloe Pilgrim; sister, Geraldine Moses; several nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, Little Chief. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Theodor Werner; grandson, Gerald Werner; and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Wednesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.

She will lie in state from 10:30 am until the time of the Funeral Mass 11:00 am Thursday, September 22, 2016 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Jeffrey Allan will officiate. Burial will follow in Ruby Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Timothy Carnahan, Gary VanLuven, Alec Solomon, Dan Pilgrim, Robert Houle and Joseph McIntyre.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
