Isaac Lewis Hornbeck, Jr., 83, of Marysville, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014.
He was born August 2, 1930 in Liverpool, West Virginia to the late Docia Pearle and Isaac Hornbeck, Sr. He married Beverly June Bement on June 2, 1956 in Hazel Park.
Mr. Hornbeck was a career salesman for various companies and owned The Gallery Bar in Port Huron. Ike was proud of his service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He attended St. Christopher Catholic Church, was a member of Moose Lodge #158, a former member of Marysville American Legion #449, sang with the Susqwatch Barbershop Group, and enjoyed playing bridge at the Voyageur.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly; a daughter, Lisa (Keith) Hughlett of Gastonia, North Carolina; a son, Kevin (Lori Meyers) Hornbeck of Port Huron Township; three grandchildren, Kevin Hornbeck, Jr., Andrew “Drew” Hughlett and Emma Hughlett; and a great grandson, Tyler Hornbeck. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Isaac Harry Hornbeck, Calvin Coolidge Hornbeck, Warren Harding Hornbeck and Walter Hubert Hornbeck; and five sisters, Lula Ernestine Hall, Nellie Gertrude McCullough, Martha Jane Law, Bertha Kathryn Adkins and Betty Lou Starlin.
Mr. Hornbeck will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend Arthur Baranowski will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Family House - Shadyside, a hospitality house in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that Ike and his family stayed in while his son was having extensive surgery or the charity of your choice.
