Ada M Turney
Ada Maude Turney, 79, of Port Huron, passed away on May 21, 2015 at her home after a brief illness.
She was born March 10, 1936 to the late Delos and Ethel Renno in Fremont, Michigan. Ada graduated from Port Huron High School in 1954. She married Albert Turney on November 12, 1955. He died June 6, 2011.
Ada worked as an x-ray technician at Port Huron Hospital and for several doctors’ offices. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, playing cards, and spending time with her family. Ada’s quick wit and unique sense of humor brought joy and laughter to those who knew her.
Ada is survived by her daughter, Sandy Samuels-Herm; her son, David (Michelle) Turney; grandchildren, Kimberly (Steven) Stein, Matt (Katie) Herm, Brad Herm (Gabrielle Morr-Brown), and Mallory Turney; great-grandsons, Parker Stein and Owen Herm; brother-in-law, William (Barbara) Turney; siblings, Bonnie Tabush, Sue Gibson, Barbara (Bud) Siler, and Bob Renno (Joni Dodge); several nieces and nephews; and her dear friends and card-playing partners, Eileen and Ray. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; infant son, James; and siblings, Norma Dental, Bill Renno and Del Renno.
A memorial service and luncheon will be held in Ada’s honor at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1404 Garfield St., Port Huron. Elder Brian Daggett will officiate.
Donations may be made in Ada’s memory to Heartland Hospice or Women’s Life Insurance Society Chapter 806. Arrangements are by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
