Theresa A Lindsay
Theresa Artimesia King Lindsay, 94, of Port Huron passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015 in Marwood Nursing and Rehab.
She was born August 19, 1920 in Mobile, Alabama the daughter of the late George and Artimesia King. Theresa moved to Port Huron as a young child, attended Port Huron Schools and married Edward W. “Bub” Lindsay on October 2, 1940. He passed away December 18, 1993.
Theresa was the head cook at the YMCA for many years where she had the opportunity to meet and prepare meals for many celebrities and dignitaries. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. The loves of Theresa’s life were her family and her church.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Richard C. (Debra) Lindsay and Anthony D. (Robin) Lindsay, both of Port Huron and Brian K. Lindsay of Detroit; three daughters, Yvonne J. (Julius) Williams and Cheryl D. (Charles) Lloyd, both of Port Huron and Doris E. Elmore of Detroit; 29 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Mancel King of Crestline, California; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Edward “Dedo” Jr. and John “Johnny Boy” Lindsay; a great granddaughter, JaNae’ Elmore; four sisters, Mary Greene, Verdelle McCalla, Deloris Warner, Doris Kimbrough; and a sister/cousin, Mary King; and two brothers, George King Jr. and Robert King Sr.
Theresa will lie in state from 10:00 am until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Reverend Jeffrey D. Allan will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Lindsay Sr., Richard Lindsay, Denzel Lindsa y, Harold Elmore Jr., Arthur Williams Sr., Mashawn Easton, Leon Edwards Sr. and Leon Edwards Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Deon Elmore, Brian Lindsay Jr., Tyson Lindsay, Arthur Williams Jr. and Terez Watkins.
The family wishes to express thanks and gratitude to the wonderful nurses and staff at Marwood Nursing and Rehab for the professional, compassionate and loving manner in which they cared for their mother.
