Gary A Teeple
Gary Allen Teeple, 82, of Port Huron, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 after a long, full life.
He was born May 19, 1933 in Gardendale to the late Isaac Guy and Pearl Allen Teeple. He married his wife of 56 years, Jean Warner, on August 1, 1959.
Gary was a graduate of Bob Jones University. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he worked in the Adjutant General's office. He was a 6th grade teacher for many years with the Port Huron Area School District. He was active in his church family at Northgate Bible Church where he served as youth leader, a Sunday School teacher, and deacon/trustee.
Gary enjoyed many kinds of music, and was a life member of Port Huron Schubert Male Chorus. He also enjoyed being a driver for the Red Cross, making runs to Detroit to deliver and pick up blood for many years. Perhaps his favorite pastime was going to garage sales and bringing home "treasures".
He is survived by his wife, Jean; five children, Jill (Dennis) Divins, Rebecca (William) Sterosky, Timothy, Stephen (Trish), and Kevin (Jessica) Teeple; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen (Ray) Tingley and Hazel (William) Ellis; and a brother, Grant Teeple.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 at Northgate Bible Church with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Rev. David Caswell will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
