Ronald Ray Morden, 82, of Port Huron, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Blue Water Hospice Home with his family by his side.
He was born on April 29, 1933 in Fremont, Michigan to the late Orval and Hazel Morden. He married Helen H. McNaughton on December 28, 1953 in Port Huron. She died October 12, 2014.
Ron worked for Chris Craft as an electrician and Littite Foundry as a millwright. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time at Schmidt Service. He was a “Mr. Fix It” who also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by four children, Ronald (Patty) Morden of Fort Gratiot, David (Debbie) Morden of Fort Gratiot, Judi (Tom) Grant of Port Huron, and Kathy (Dave) Heacock of Fort Gratiot; ten grandchildren, Thomas (Katie) Grant, Christopher (Christy) Morden, David (Cassie) Morden, Craig (Heather) Morden, Andrew (Molly) Grant, Stephanie (Doug) Swinson, Stacie (Jon) Rosche, Kimberly Grant (Chris Elisei), Kristi Heacock, and Kerri Heacock; nine great grandchildren, Will, Scott, Riley, Tessa, Kyle, Dominic, Max, Ava, and Hunter, arriving in December; his twin, Ruth Haas; three other siblings, Elaine Cumeralto, Dave (Pauline) Morden, and Linda Penn; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by four siblings, Geraldine Jewell, Eleanor Morden, Beverly Maxon, and Lee Morden.
Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2015 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home, 1720 Elk St., with visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the Veterans Honor Guard Alliance.
