Richard F Mosier
Richard F. Mosier, of North Port, Florida, formerly of Port Huron, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 9, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in 1942 in Ionia, Michigan to Alice and LaVern Mosier. Richard married the love of his life, Pamela J. Wiles on April 3, 1964; their daughter, Jessica R. Mosier, was born in 1980. Dr. Jessica R. Mosier and her husband Dr. Robert C. Clase have one son, Carver Alder Clase, who was born in 2015.
In 1963, Richard joined the United States Air Force. He was soon assigned to the 6916th Security Squadron, in Rhine Mein AFB, Frankfurt, Germany where he participated in over 130 surveillance/recon missions serving as a Russian linguist. He was awarded the Air Medal award in 1967 and was discharged from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of staff sergeant.
Richard then began his legal career in 1972, after graduating from MSU with high honors, and Wayne State Law School with a Juris Doctor degree. He began work in St. Clair Co. with the law firm of Clyne and Clyne and moved to the Davidson Staiger law firm in 1981. Richard was respected as an excellent trial attorney, mediator and labor attorney in St. Clair County for over 40 years.
Richard enjoyed camping, hiking, skiing, playing tennis, whitewater canoeing, and most any outdoor activity with his family. He was also an accomplished singer and performer in Port Huron Little Theater, as well as being active in many community organizations. He was an accomplished and artistic carpenter/builder who loved nothing better than having a project to work on. He was equally at home in the courtroom, on stage, in the kitchen, or working with one of his many contractor friends. He touched many people during his lifetime and will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pamela; daughter, Jessica (Robert) and grandson, Carver; as well as Laura Wickens, Andrea Clyne, Nicholas Clyne, and a special niece, Becky Kohanov, whom he treated as his own. He was also survived by his mother, Alice; his sister, Kathleen Robertson; and several nieces.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Angry Bull Banquet Hall with a memorial service and military honors beginning at 4 p.m.
