Warren Zimmer
Warren J. Zimmer, 79, of Marysville, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 of medical complications.
He was born September 2, 1936 in St. Clair to the late Mark and Elizabeth Zimmer and graduated from St. Clair High School in 1954. He married Martha Dandron on August 9, 1958 and they recently celebrated 58 years of marriage.
Mr. Zimmer served in the U. S. Navy. He was employed at the St. Clair Inn as head chef for 28 years and owned and operated Zimmer’s “A Catered Affair” in Port Huron for three years. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; five children, Julie (Gary) Louks, Steven (Tami) Zimmer, Lori (Mark) Siemen, Lisa (Ken) Trendy and Stephanie (Steven) Wassom; eleven grandchildren, Nathan (Rachel) Louks, Nichole (Cary) Favors, Jeremy Zimmer, Sarah Zimmer, Mark (Stacy) Siemen, Morgan (the late Tobey) Hockridge, Kara (Justin) Doren, Craig (Karri) Trendy, Aaron (Chelsea) Trendy, Raelynn Wassom and Rebecca Wassom; fourteen great grandchildren, Parker, Dane, Noelle, Cayden, Camden, Madison, Mason, Henrik, Hannah, Payton, Paige, Jack, Beckett and Grayson; sister-in-laws, Margaret Zimmer, Ruth Zimmer, Dell Werner and Myrna (Ron) Pelc; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bernard Zimmer, Mark “Butch” Zimmer and sister, Carol Hackenberg.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Reverend John Hitzeroth and Reverend James Jones will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Military honors will be conducted by the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
