Lillian I Werner

October 12th, 1926 to August 18th, 2016

Lillian Irena Werner, 89, of Port Huron Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, August 18, 2016.

She was born October 12, 1926 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to the late David and Dorothy Runk. She married Edsel J. Werner on April 7, 1944 in Toledo, Ohio and they were married 60 years. He passed away on November 11, 2004.

Lillian had a young spirit, great wisdom and a wonderful listening ear. Her unshakeable faith was a constant inspiration and source of strength to her children, many friends and family. She returned to school when she was 53 and graduated third in her class from S.C.C.C.C. as an L.P.N. She was a private duty nurse until her retirement. She loved music, playing the organ and was a church choir director for many years. She loved all of God’s creation, especially her beloved dogs, Queenie and Schatzi.

She is survived by her beloved children, David Werner, Sondra (Keith) Bricker, Michael (Gay) Werner, Patti Lippert, Cynthia (Ronald) Raines and Nancy Jane (Thomas) Coleman; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Delores Finn; sister-in-law, DeeAnn Runk; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter and Robert Runk; and sister, Dorothy Hawkins.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, August 22, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Kenneth Norcross will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.

Memorials may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Colonial Woods Missionary Church.
