Dwight Leland Weiss, 88, of Port Huron Township died Thursday, May 4, 2017.
He was born January 5, 1929 in Monroe to the late Herman and Elizabeth Weiss. He married Jeanette Rodgers on January 8, 1994 in Port Huron.
Dwight served in the Merchant Marines for a short time and retired after 30 years with Ford Motor Company. He was a chaplain for the Blue Water Aerie #3702 F.O.E for many years and a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed dancing, fishing and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; children, Clifford (Kathy) Rodgers, Marc (Diana) Rodgers, Allen (Michele) Rodgers, Gloria Shurkey, Regina (Calvin) Mericle and Walter (Julie) Rodgers; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including special nieces, Doris (Glen) Lochner and Teresa (Walter) Gibala. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary and Helen Monroe; and brothers, Franklin, Herman and Ralph Weiss.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 in Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Dr. Mark Madson will officiate.
Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth and Michael Gander, Donald Mericle, Kevin Shurkey, Noah Rodgers and Allen Rodgers Jr.
