Thelma J Irving
Thelma Jean Irving, 69, of Ludington, Michigan, passed away the morning of January 22, 2018 due to Alzheimer's disease at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan.
She was born March 15, 1948 in Yale, Michigan, to the late Ora and Mildred Kilbourn.
Mrs. Irving was a graduate of Yale High School and attended St. Clair County Community College. She enjoyed listening to country western music and traveling around Michigan's various vacation sites. Gardening was one of her favorite spring and summer past times along with canning the summer harvest and making homemade jams. Some of her favorite foods were white fish and Reuben sandwiches. One of her favorite sweets were chocolate covered cherries.
She was employed at Capac Manufacturing and once she had children she worked as a stay at home mom wrapping fishing poles in the 1970s. She was also employed at Medilodge of Yale and Commercial & Savings Bank of Yale. She lived in the Yale area until 2005, when she moved to Ludington, Michigan, for her retirement.
She was a kidney transplant recipient in 2002 at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit.
Surviving are son, Robert Ora Irving of Kimball Township and daughter and son-in-law, Jan Sue and Steve DiGiambattista of Wakefield, MA; grandson, Sean Robert DiGiambattista, of Wakefield, MA; brother, Lyle Kilbourn of Yale; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents in 1968 and 2004, and brothers, Max Kilbourn in 2001 and Maynard Kilbourn in 2008.
A memorial service is being planned by her family for the spring.
