Clarence Thornwell

May 10th, 1944 to July 5th, 2018

Clarence Ronald Thornwell, 74, departed this life on July 5, 2018.

He was born May 10, 1944 in Rock Hill, South Carolina to the late James and Willeen Thornwell.

Clarence confessed his faith in Christ at an early age. He was a faithful and devoted member of the Historic Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Port Huron. Clarence loved the Lord! He was often moved by the Holy Spirit while listening and hearing the preacher preach. Clarence loved and supported his church.

When asked what most family and friends remember about Clarence, they all agree that he could hold on to a conversation what seemed like forever. We all loved Clarence and knew he had a passion for conversation. Clarence retired from Lear Corporation and was currently working for Goodwill Industries.

Clarence is survived by seven siblings; four sisters, Michelle Thornwell of Port Huron, Debbie Bolar of Detroit, Shirley Monroe of Atlanta, Georgia and Mattie (Lewis) Brown of Rock Hill, South Carolina, three brothers, James (Lillian) Thornwell of New York, Wilkie (LaVern) Thornwell of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Robert Edwards of Chicago, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Historic Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Elder John E. Thornton will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
