Margaret "Maggie" A Miller
Margaret “Maggie” Ann Miller passed into the arms of our Lord God on Friday, January 4, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 11, 1935 to Winifred and Dewey Scott in Detroit, Michigan. Margaret graduated as valedictorian from Dominican High School in East Detroit and went on to work for the Social Security Administration. After rearing eight children, Margaret worked at Askar-Shain Photography and then at Secory Oil for 20 years as office manager.
Margaret was best-known for her great intelligence, strong will, and sarcastic wit. She shared her Catholic faith with her family, fed them hot meals every night, and never went to bed until the last child was home. Her greatest pride was all eight of her children graduating from college.
After retirement, she enjoyed sitting on the front porch visiting with her long-time neighbors. She also took great joy in feeding her birds and caring for her flowers. Her favorite pastime was watching the freighters and boats on the St. Clair River.
In her final years, Margaret was cared for by her loving children, grandchildren and caregivers at Shorepointe Assisted Living and Nursing Center.
Margaret is survived by her children, Cathy Pietrasiuk, Sandy Chambers, John (Cheryl), Pat (Julie), Tom (Chris), Mary Harden, Sharon, Jim (Xenia); grandchildren, Alex, Jodi (Mark), John (Katie), Courtney, Amanda, Kristen, Bernie (Melissa), Tom, Mary, Megan (Ryan), Michael, Danny, Karly, Ben (Lauren), Jacob, Maggie, Katie, Max, and Grace; great grandchildren, Layla, Scarlett, Avery, Colton, Emma, and JR.; sister-in-law, Evelyn Scott; in addition to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Scott; sister, Carol Higley; and sons-in-law, James Pietrasiuk and Dan Chambers.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 in the Marysville Funeral Home.
