Charlotte J Kronner

April 29th, 1928 to February 10th, 2020
Obituary

Charlotte J. Kronner, 91, of Kimball Township, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 10, 2020.

She was born at home on April 29, 1928 in Port Huron, a child of the Great Depression, to very hard-working parents, the late Orval and Helen Phillips. She learned early to value, not money, but the riches her family held dear; love & contentment, and faith in the Lord, which was the foundation of her entire life as a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Family was always first, and she raised her daughter Dana to have the same guiding faith in God. She was a devoted and loving caregiver for both of her parents, living with and caring for her mother, who lived to be 95 years young! She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Edward Tonnesen and James Kronner.

Charlotte was employed as Executive Secretary to the President of the Bank of America in Palm Springs, California. After returning to Port Huron, she worked for the County Clerk and was an Assistant Manager with Peoples Bank for many years. She was the best mother a daughter could ever have and in our grief, there is comfort, peace and a smile knowing she is reunited with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and hugging her parents and family.

Charlotte will be remembered for both her sweetness and steel; generous to a fault, stubborn, witty, always kind and soft-spoken, a loving person to be around. She was always a lady, modest and full of integrity and humility. She embraced life and all its challenges with a positive outlook and a can-do attitude. "The difficult we can handle, the impossible will take a little longer."

She was always a champion of scrambling eggs and was known for her annual Christmas breakfast. Charlotte had a black belt in wrapping the most gorgeous packages and sending out loving cards. She did the Mother's Walks for March of Dimes. She loved animals and people with a tender heart.

Charlotte loved spending childhood summers at her Grandma Jessie's farm in Deckerville, and on the lap of her Grandma Miller.

She kept all her daughter's childhood artwork for decades in a box, and taught her the value of saving money, although there wasn't much left to save. Most of all, she adored all her family, especially her grandsons and granddaughters, and beloved nieces and nephews, and the special things each had in their personalities.

Her daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Patrick, loved and cared for her in their home during her final years. Life will now change, not end. She reigns with her Lord in paradise! Welcome home, good and faithful servant!

She is survived by her beloved family; daughters, Dana Tonnesen (Patrick) Kraft and Kay Tonnesen (Jim) Glavas; grandchildren, Alex Kraft (Abbie Robinson), Melina (Thomas) Chandy, Nick Glavas, Maya (Matt) White, and Kieran and Aidan Leedom; sons-in-law, Bill Fockler and Robert Leedom; beloved nephews and niece, Philip McAuley, Joel (Liz) Mathews and families, and Nikki (Joe) Mlynarski and family; and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kerry Tonnesen Leedom; sister, Lillian (Fred) McAuley; and niece, Debi McAuley Visga.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2020 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Downing Cemetery, Deckerville.
