Leo A Jasinski

Leo Alexander Jasinski, 89, of Marysville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in the loving presence of Nancy, his wife of 48 years.

He was born August 13, 1932 to the late Stephen and Josephine Jasinski. He married Nancy Perz on April 23, 1973. Leo’s early life centered around the family farm in Smith’s Creek.

He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as an ambulance driver, earning a Korean Service Ribbon, Bronze Service Star, United Nations Service Medal and a National Defense Service Medal.

After his service, Leo was employed at Eastern Airlines until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter in his earlier years and loved gardening in his retirement years, along with riding his tractor mower on his property. He was a parishioner of St. Christopher Catholic Church. He was an active member of the Port Huron Moose Lodge #158, the V.F.W. Marysville Post #2340 and the American Legion J. Edward Mallorey Post #449, where he loved socializing with his many friends and acquaintances and playing Keno and pull tabs along with having an occasional “schnibble”.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Calvin) Hensler, Frances Conley, Joanne (Wayne) Bradford, Kathy (Ralph) Sharrard and MaryLynn (Gary) Nabozny; nephews, Norman and Michael Jaworski, Steve and Ken Jasinski and Greg Novach; niece, Nancy Knights; and two very good friends, Gladys Schmidt and Jean Schroeder. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond; sisters, Ginny and Grace; nephews, Brian and Eugene; and nieces, Jane and Karen.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021 in St. Christopher Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
