Obituary

Grant Dennis Partridge, 96, of Marysville, died Tuesday, December 28, 2021.

He was born October 11, 1925 in Ferndale to the late Leslie and Alice Partridge. He married Dollie Mae King on June 11, 1947. She died November 10, 2020 after 73 years of marriage.

Grant graduated from Marysville High School in 1943 and earned his Eagle Scout in 1939. He entered the U.S. Army Air Corps in December 1943, serving until 1945 as an Aviation Cadet. He enjoyed having his own airplane for many years, then later in life took up the hobby of building and flying remote control airplanes. He was a member of the River District R/C Eagles flying club.

Grant was a tool & die maker, retiring from Mueller Brass Company as a tool and manufacturing engineer in 1987. He enjoyed coaching his sons in Little League for many years. He was a member of Marysville Lions Club for 35 years, during which time he promoted the restarting of Marysville Days in 1999. He received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award in 2005. Grant was a member of Marysville United Methodist Church. He was a car enthusiast who enjoyed driving his Wills Ste. Claire and promoting the museum. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, roller blading, and played hockey until he was 80. He loved his family most of all.

He is survived by two children, Robert (Gretchen) Partridge and Denise (Ron) Wiltse; a daughter-in-law, Linda Partridge; ten grandchildren, Chad (Bonnie) Partridge, Jaime (Zack) Bouwens, Jaclyn (Jon) Nelson, Matt Partridge, Jennifer Partridge, Anson Wiltse, Alex (Kimberly) Wiltse, Ben (Karon) Cooper, Dan (Robin) Teliczan and Scott (Jenn) Teliczan; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Connie Wellman; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, James Partridge; and a brother, Clive Partridge.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. The Reverend David Gladstone will officiate. The livestream of the service may be viewed from Grant’s obituary page on the funeral home website.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
