Caroline Ligocki

Caroline E. Ligocki, 91, of Port Huron Township, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012.

She was born February 26, 1920 in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Lloyd and Esther Herr. She married Edward Ligocki on August 20, 1937 in Port Huron. He died November 4, 1992.

Caroline was employed with Prestolite Wire Company until her retirement. She was a member of Charles Hammond American Legion Post #8 Auxiliary and enjoyed many nights there listening to her son entertain the members. She will be remembered by her family as a very devoted grandmother who was caring, easy going and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her son, Edward J. Ligocki of Port Huron Township; two grandsons, Edward B. (Julie) Ligocki and Wayne Sommers; five great grandchildren including Erica, C.J. and Zachary Ligocki; and her dear friend and caregiver, Christy Weisenbaugh. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Eileen Sommers.

Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Pastor Gerald Manchester will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Erica, C.J, and Zachary Ligocki, Ed Hamming, Edward B. Ligocki, Doug Simmons, Mike McCauley and Mike Duenaz.

Memorials may be made to Charles Hammond American Legion Post #8.
