William Howard Wilson, 81, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
He was born February 28, 1943 in Yale, Michigan to the late Wendell and Frances Wilson. He married Janet Hazel, the love of his life, on March 24, 1962 in Yale.
William served in the U.S. Air Force beginning his career at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas before being transferred to Lincoln, Nebraska where he worked on maintaining our Nations missile defense systems. After the service he worked as a power plant operator and shift supervisor with Detroit Edison for 35 years. He had a passion for antique cars and going to car shows. He enjoyed farming, hunting, being in the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet; four children, William (Cheryl) Wilson, Leanne Olsen (fiancé Carlo Massobrio), Suzanne (Randy) Falk and Thomas (Jessica) Wilson; grandchildren, Rachel (Marcus) Brandt, Courtney (Carlos) Sanchez, Nathan Wilson (Kayla Wetzel), Mark “Buster” Olsen (Haley Gottschalk), Erik Olsen (Stacie Sabo), Carol Stratte, Kennedy Falk (Nick Husar), Randy Falk, Clay (Savanah) Wilson and Whitney Wilson; great grandchildren, Thalia, Beckham, Maci, Christian, Spencer and Kasey; sisters, Wendy Gillett and Linda Manns; brother-in-law, Jerry Hazel (Lisa Setter); many nieces, nephews and cousins, including special cousins, Jim and Fred Wilson; and long-time friends, John (Sue) Wallace, Hans (Zan) Houston, Don May, Mary Ann Campbell and Linda Burns. He was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Katie Bulmer and Barbara Hazel; and brothers-in-law, Dave Gillett and Wayne Manns.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2025 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. René Wilson will officiate.
Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery, Clyde Township. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
