James Roy “Wimpy” Gibson, 73, of Port Huron, died Monday, August 5, 2024.

He was born November 27, 1950 in Croswell to the late Roy and Mary Gibson. He married Penny A. Nichols on June 13, 1998 in Port Huron.

James graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School in 1968. He was employed with General Motors and retired after 30 years. James was an avid golfer, ball player and bowler. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Port Huron Moose Lodge #158, American Legion J. Edward Mallorey Post #449 and Blue Water Aerie #3702 Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Penny; siblings, Rosemary, Mike and Dorothy Gibson; nieces and nephews, Diane Gibson-Tripp, Scott Trowhill, Steve Trowhill and Joe Junga. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Bacon; siblings, Clifford Gibson and Kay Rogers; and nephew, Richard Gibson.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Pastor Donna Sperry will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

The Gibson family prefers memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, Blue Water Aerie #3702 Fraternal Order of Eagles or the American Legion J. Edward Mallorey Post #449.
