Daniel E Williams
Daniel Earl Williams was born December 26, 1951 to Ernst Williams and Margaret Van Buskirk. He married the love of his life, Roberta "Bobbi" Bibeau on July 20th, 1973. Together they raised 6 children: Kenneth, Bobby "Beeb", Richard, Danielle "Girl", Johnelle, and Jessica. He went to dance with his wife in heaven September 5, 2024 at 72 years old.
In his early years, Dan was briefly in the United States Army, where he earned his engineering degree. Later, he worked many years in industrial manufacturing where he was a certified CNC and lathe specialist.
After changing careers, for the final journey, he was a cook in family and friends' businesses for several years including: St. Clair Coney Island, Happy Days Diner, and The Colonial Restaurant. He retired after 40 years to spend the sunset of his life with his cherished wife, children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.
Dan's life was full of interesting adventures and stories…some real, some fictitious, as his children eventually found out, because he was always telling tales comically embellishing as he went along.
Among the stories it was said that: He had a raccoon, a de-scented skunk, and his dad had a bobcat for a pet. He had a collection of 40 Hard Rock Cafe t-shirts from the world commemorating travels of family and friends spanning from Moscow to New Orleans. He saw Janice Joplin and Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock for a day and a half when he was 17. He whale watched in California, went on a riverboat in Tennessee, took Bobbi to Graceland, visited DC, and during his life went thru, or to, 36 of the 50 states. He accidently drove a car into Belle River in the 60s, and one into the St Clair River when he was 19! His favorite childhood memories always included his Gramma Hattie, and he loved when she would come to visit in Florida every year.
One time she planted eggs into the ground when he was little to grow an Easter egg tree. Dan was his sons' baseball coach- they never won a single game, but everyone got to play and he won the coach of the year award. He never missed a date with Dad for the girls' Girl scouts. If you were lost, or needed rescuing, he could find you anywhere. He once cooked chili for the St Clair cook off and won. Secret ingredient was cinnamon! Shhhh…He surfed in California and stood up on one wave, but fell on 10! Saw Jesus Christ Superstar on stage with Bobbi the first year they were married. His dad used to take only him to Murphy's bar and give him orange pop and BBQ chips. He loved that but got super sick of orange pop!
Aunt Kathy, Gramma Hattie and Aunt Nettie were the people who wrote him when he was away and made his days easier. He got his snake tattoo in Pueblo Colorado when he was in the army special engineer training. His fingers spell a crazy saying when linked together, and he had Bobbi's phone number tattooed on his ankle so he'd never forget. He parachuted into the Playboy mansion and had drinks with Heff and the bunnies. His close friend, Remi, painted his portrait as a gift. He was known for being logical, having a dry sense of humor and calling a spade a spade, even if you were 4 years old!
Most of all, Dan was known for being a dedicated provider, an amazing father, and the brother and uncle everyone loved. He left his mark on every person he knew, and he will be missed and loved forever and a lifetime. He wanted everyone to know that, "No matter where you go, who you meet, or what you see, you'll never meet another MF quite like me!" And he was right... we never will.
He is survived by his siblings, Linda Jones, Sherren Yorke, Brian Williams, Pamela Williams and Michelle Bailey; his children, Bobby (Cassandra) Bibeau, Richard (Jill) Bibeau, Danielle Workman, Johnelle Williams, and Jessica Palomba; Grandchildren, Ashley, Kenny, Cody, Autumn, Nick, Evelyn and Rosa; Great-Grandchildren, Christian, Cody, Daniel, Fredrick, Mikey, Annabelle, Harleen, Caden, Mary Jane, Carson, Jaxon, Liam and Spencer; especially his faithful, furry buddy, Chewy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbi; son, Kenneth Bibeau; and brother; Jack Williams.
