Kenneth E "Jim" Mitchell

May 24th, 1938 to June 16th, 2025

Kenneth Eugene “Jim” Mitchell, 87, of Port Huron, died Monday, June 16, 2025 with his faithful companions Molly, Scooter, and Ebony at his side.

He was born May 24, 1938 in Davis City, Iowa to the late Forrest and Blanche Mitchell.

He married the love of his life, Judith A. Mitchell, on December 23, 1956 and they shared a beautiful love through 64 years of marriage until her death on January 7, 2021.

Jim and Judy took their family and moved to the country, where they had as many as 6 horses, several loyal dogs, and too many cats to count.

Jim retired from Kroger as a Produce Manager after 47 years with the company.

He leaves behind his sons, Craig Alexander Mitchell (Angie Zubac-Mitchell), Brian Eugene Mitchell, Steven Michael Mitchell (Mary McBride), Bruce Allen (Cathy) Mitchell, Eric Paul Mitchell; and daughter, Kimberlee Ann Mitchell.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, air force veteran Herb Batterton, Ted Batterton, John Mitchell, Stanley Mitchell, and Constance Connie Denman-Oliver.

Kenneth (Jim) and Judith leave behind a legacy of 19 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 18 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Shuan Laurain will officiate. A livestream of the service will be available on Jim’s obituary page of the funeral home website.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Bruce Mitchell Junior, Torren Mitchell, Brady Ashworth, Ronald Page Junior, Austin Mitchell, and Felipe Mitchell.

To honor Jim’s love of Detroit sports, his family encourages those attending the visitation or service to wear comfortable Detroit Tigers or Lions gear.
