Joseph K Pavlick

Joseph Karl Pavlick, 86, of Grant Township, died Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

He was born December 28, 1939 in Detroit to the late Michael and Anna Pavlick. He married Patricia Kalza on October 22, 1966 in Detroit.

Joseph graduated from Madonna University and then served as a police officer for 28 years with the City of Dearborn. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, bowling and watching his Detroit sports teams. Joseph honorably served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion J. Edward Mallorey Post #449, American Legion Dearborn Post #364 and VFW Post #5585 in Emmett for over 50 years. He was a longtime member of St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church and enjoyed spending his Sunday mornings there.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia; two children, Michelle (John) Dignan and Matthew Pavlick (Hilke Schellmann); and two grandchildren, Derek Dignan and Frieda Pavlick-Schellmann. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, John and Andrew Pavlick.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026 in St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Reverend Lee Acervo will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Inurnment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
