Joan A Burkhardt

Joan Alice Burkhardt, 90, of Kimball Township, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025 surrounded by her family.

She was born December 17, 1934 in Port Huron to the late Charles and Anna Albertha Gosman. She married Clifton Burkhardt on November 24, 1956 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2019 after 63 years of marriage.

Joan enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, bird watching, canning, and crafts. She loved baking and was an excellent cook. Above all, Joan was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt who always put the needs of her family above her own and was known for her unconditional love.

She is survived by four children, Mary Ann Elworthy, Sandra (Tom) Collins, Mark (Amy) Burkhardt and Lisa (Rob) Johnson; 13 grandchildren, Jason (Rosie) Eschker, Jessica (Mike) Verwys, Sarah (Don) Stefforia Jr., Brittany and Ashley Collins, Jonathon (Joelene) Burkhardt, Olivia Burkhardt (fiancé Josh Jones), Andrew (Jess) Burkhardt, Robbie, Jacob, Joshua, Zachary and MaKayla Johnson; 11 great grandchildren, Donny and Chase Stefforia, Layla, Rylee and Elliott Burkhardt, Cooper and Jaxson Jones, Bonnie and Charlotte Burkhardt, Shay and R.J. Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Edward, Lawrence, Fred, Calvin and Arnold Gosman, Priscilla Gosman, Ida May Hodges and Laura Peterson.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Joan will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.

Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandson. Honorary pallbearers will be David Hodges and Chase Stefforia.
