Gloria J McCue
Gloria Jean McCue, 82, of Port Huron, died Sunday, February 1, 2026 after 80 years of good health and a short battle with breast cancer. She was born August 18, 1943 in Port Huron to Fred and Goldie Cook. She graduated from Marysville High School and earned her B.A. in Physical Education from CMU, with a minor in Art. Some years later, Gloria’s passion for natural health and anatomy led her to earn certification as a massage therapist. The heart and soul of Gloria’s work was raising her 5 children.
A talented athlete and cheerleader, Gloria remained able to do a handspring up to age 60. She worked as a Water Safety Instructor and helped many lose their fear of the water. One of her favorite places to be was floating on her back and searching for rocks at the shore. Any plant was privileged to live with her since she talked to them and babied them until they flourished. Choral singing-especially with Sweet Adelines-was another important interest where she used her keen ear and ability to harmonize. Donating blood, leading Girl Scouts, and coaching soccer (she helped develop the AYSO fields) were some of many ways she shared her talents and leadership skills. Gloria also volunteered with the Council of Aging and became a certified Hurricane Emergency Responder.
Gloria used many mediums to give and to create beauty wherever she happened to be-from serving in a clowning ministry to creating large paper mache animals. On a mission trip to northern Mexico, Gloria learned how to construct small homes with brick and stucco. Everything was more intense, clearer and cleaner when Gloria was involved.
She was a lifelong follower of Christ, serving in the Assembly of God then the Seventh-day Adventist churches, and was so happy to help anyone in their time of need. Her greatest joy was when God used her to share her faith with someone else. Gloria was hilarious, trusting, strong, resilient, and loved fiercely. Her laughter lives on in all of the family’s hearts.
She is survived by her children: Bruce (Katherine) Daniel, Brian (Stacy) Daniel, David (Audra Jean) Daniel, Jeani (Nicolas) Sancey, Justin (Paula) McCue; grandchildren: Hannah Daniel, Malachi Daniel, Micah Daniel, Elise Sancey (Austin), Miriam Sancey, Jerimiah McCue, Lillian McCue, Brooklynn McCue and Hudson McCue; grand-pup, Otis; sister, Jacquelyn Manchester-Kempke; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Gerald Daniel Jr.; husband, William D. McCue; and her sister, Karen (Cook) Martin.
Private family services were held. Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Arrangements are by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
