Michael D Daniels

Michael D. Daniels, 79, of Port Huron, died Sunday, March 1, 2026.

He was born January 1, 1947, the first baby of the new year at Port Huron Hospital, to the late Clarence and Anita Daniels. He married Clara DeNardin on June 20, 1969 in Port Huron.

Michael was employed with Michigan Bell Telephone for many years and after retirement, worked for Deering Electric. He was a proud veteran and a member of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard. He enjoyed woodworking and photography, as well as firearms, competitive shooting and reloading. He also took pride in gardening and carefully maintaining his flower beds. In his free time, he enjoyed dining out with family and friends, traveling with his wife and close friends and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Clara; two sons, Steve (Diana) Kudzia and Ken (Justine) Daniels; five grandchildren, Anton Daniels, Emily Rusch, Megan Rusch, Robin Hillyard and Adam Hillyard; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Wisswell, Anya Parker and Ayla Parker; brother, Jim (Wilma) Daniels; sister, Sharon Mayne; several nieces and nephews that he was very close to; and good friends, Mark and Debbie Deering and family, Bob and Maureen Docherty and their children and Mike and Monna Selepack and their children. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Mayne.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, March 6, 2026 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Robert McFarlane will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard payable to the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council, or D.A.V. Chapter 12.
