Clayton "Bud" Shagena

Clayton R. “Bud” Shagena, 84, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 20, 2026.

He was born November 21, 1941 in St. Clair to the late Leslie and Mary Shagena. He married Roselynn “Rose” Blay on March 23, 1991 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2023 after 32 years of marriage.

Bud graduated from St. Clair High School. He proudly served in the United States Army and worked for General Motors as a skilled trade mason for many years. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, mowing the lawn, and tinkering with his garden tractor. Bud was a devoted Christian and attended Hillside Wesleyan Church. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Richard (Kim) Shagena, Pam (Rich) Reinhart, Dawn (Mark) Brown, Brian (Gina) Shagena, Christy (Lee) Tremp, and Kelly (Dave) Harrington; 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his former wife, Judith Gerber; and his beloved dog, Mazie.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 in Hillside Wesleyan Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Nathan Neihof will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.
