Robert H Armstead

Robert Harold Armstead, 85, of Wales Township, died Saturday, April 25, 2026.

He was born November 17, 1940 in Cass City to the late Harold and Helen Armstead. He married Sharon Baumstark on December 27, 1963 in Port Huron.

Robert was a welder with Ferguson Steel for many years and farmed in Wales Township where he also raised farm animals and ponies. He volunteered with the St. Clair County 4-H and enjoyed helping the kids at the County fair. Robert served in the U.S. Army and belonged to the Smiths Creek American Legion, Post #525.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; children, Robert Armstead II, Susan (Richard) Prentice, Sally Armstead, and Rodney (Billi) Armstead; grandchildren, Robert (Michelle) Armstead III, Eric (Heather) Armstead, Brandon Armstead, Saul Lovelace, Alex Armstead, Sophia Armstead; siblings, Richard (Cheri) Armstead, and Mark (Cynthia) Armstead; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanne Armstead; brothers, Ronald and Joe, and sisters, Dorothy, and Shirley.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 in Marysville Funeral Home. Shaun Laurain will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.

Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Wales Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Clair County 4-H program.
