Edith Lewandowski

Edith Marguerite Lewandowski, 87, of Marysville, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at home unexpectedly.

She was born September 24, 1924 in Port Huron to the late John and Harriett Scahill. She married Norbert D. Lewandowski on January 30, 1943 in Port Huron. He died November 28, 2007.

Mrs. Lewandowski was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed baking pies, playing bingo and dancing. She was a member of Sturges Memorial Congregational Church and the JOY Club at St. John’s United Church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters, Christine Newingham of Port Huron and Wendy (Keith) Zick of Marysville; four grandchildren, Jodi Newingham, Marty (Anjula Agrawal) Newingham, Brandi Johnston and Skip (Melissa) Willoughby; seven great-grandchildren, Blake and Rilee Johnston, Arya, Jaya and Ananda Newingham, Sawyer Schnackenberg and Lily Willoughby; a sister, Mildred (Chester) Lewandowski; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six sisters.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate. Memorials may be made to Sturges Memorial Congregational Church. To send condolences, visit marysvillefuneralhome.com
