James Scott “Jim” Harris, 48, of Kimball Township died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Sunday, November 2, 2014.
He was born April 14, 1966 in Port Huron to Robert and Phyllis Harris. He married Gloria G. Letzgus on September 25, 1992 in Port Huron.
Jim graduated from Port Huron High School in 1984. He worked for the past 28 years at Wright Plastic Products, most recently as night manager. He was a very active parent with the Marysville Viking Regiment, serving as a Band Booster, Pit Crew member, and trip chaperone. He was also involved at Crossroad Christian Center where he attended church and was the media coordinator. Most importantly, Jim was a dedicated husband and father who always put his family first.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; two children, Amber Harris (Jacob Julio) and Ryan Harris; granddaughter, Hayden Marie Julio; mother, Phyllis Harris; father, Robert (Florence) Harris; sisters, Debbie (Doug) Heller and Kim (Edward) Kirkendall; grandmother, Reva Harris; mother-in-law, Mary Myers; father-in-law, Edward (Barbara) Letzgus; sisters-in-law, Cecilia (Mark) Mellendorf, Lisa (Kevin) Miller, Lori Potts and Melanie Guise; brother-in-law, Bob (Laurie) Letzgus; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald W. Harris; and grandparents, Alfred and Mary Jane Herpel and Irven Harris.
Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-9 pm Wednesday in Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 am Thursday, November 6, 2014 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Michael Harvey of Crossroad Christian Center will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot.
