Doris Hartel

Doris May Hartel, 76, of Fort Gratiot died Friday, December 12, 2014 in McLaren Port Huron.

She was born July 16, 1938 in Port Huron to the late Harvey & Dorothy Smith. She married Lawrence L. Hartel Sr. on January 19, 1957 in Walkerton, Indiana.

Mrs. Hartel loved sewing and genealogy. She collected antiques, especially dolls, clocks, chairs and license plates.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Lawrence L. “Lenny” Hartel Jr. (wife, Kim), Mark M. Hartel, all of Fort Gratiot and John O. (Renee) Hartel of Burtchville; a grandson, Kyle Hartel; two step grandchildren, Shawn A. Rodegeb and Desiree (Nathan) Wright; a step great granddaughter, Bayleigh; two sisters, Susan (Dan) Rich of St. Clair and Joanne (Leland) Papple of West Branch; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Monday, December 15, 2014 in the funeral home with Pastor Mitch OIson of Grace Ministry Center officiating.

Burial will be in Burtchville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kyle Hartel, Shawn Rodegeb, Rod & Danny McCue, Steve Smith and Buddy Rich.
