Elizabeth A McDaid
Elizabeth A. (Emerick) McDaid, 90, of Port Huron, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015.
She was born June 1, 1924 in Port Huron to the late John and Anna Emerick. She married Joseph McDaid on August 23, 1945 in St. Paul Lutheran Church. He died May 31, 2011.
Mrs. McDaid retired from St. Clair County Community College. Liz and Joe spent their retirement years in Gladwin, Michigan where they enjoyed the beauty and solitude on their lake in the woods. She was an avid reader, and was always ready for a good game of cards. They shared happy times with their many friends at the American Legion and the Eagles in Port Huron before transferring those memberships to Gladwin, enjoying new friends. They celebrated their 65th anniversary by traveling to South Dakota with their children. Liz loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and will always be remembered for her joyful smile.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Cheryl) McDaid and Gary (Wendy) McDaid, all of Port Huron; a daughter, Laura (Jon) Crull, of Daytona Beach, Florida; six grandchildren, Erin (Chad) Griffioen, Lauren (Rory) Byrne, Jennifer (Chris) Meyer, Jason (Brittnie) McDaid, Joseph Crull and Kelly (Scott) Cotton; six great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ray McDaid; and several nieces and nephews, and special niece, Judy Robinson.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate.
Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Columbarium, Port Huron.
