Roland J Foster Sr.
Roland James Foster Sr., 72, of Kimball Township, died unexpectedly on May 3, 2017.
He was born October 23, 1944 in Port Huron to the late William and Marion Foster. He married Nancy "Kay" VanCamp on July 15, 1967. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary in July.
Roland lived in Port Huron his entire life. He served in the U.S. Army in 1965 and received the Purple Heart, National Defense Metal and Combat Badge. He was a member of D.A.V. Chapter 12. He enjoyed his grandsons and great grandson, his many friends, working in the garage and playing around on his tractor.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; sons, Roland Jr. and Tim; grandsons, Ryan (Jen) and Jason (Kenzie); great grandson, Gavin; two brothers, Richard (Yvonne) and Michael (Bev); brothers-in-law, Dennis (Terri) VanCamp, Don (Sue) VanCamp and John McCormick; sister-in-law, Jane (Tom) Ginn; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert & Henry Foster; sister, Wilma Green; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elsie and Earl VanCamp; brother-in-law, Dwuane VanCamp Sr.; and sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Karen & Richard James.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Brewer will officiate.
Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honors Guard. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Ryan and Jason, nephews, Greg VanCamp, Jeremy Brace, Ray Arnold and Tim Hammar.
