John P Blair

April 26th, 1962 to July 12th, 2020
Obituary

John Paul Blair, 58, of East China, died Sunday, July 12, 2020.

He was born April 26, 1962 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Margaret R. and John P. Blair Sr. He married Tonja D. Martin on July 15, 2017 in East China.

John worked as a police officer, nurse, and job recruiter throughout his career. His love for God and his faith was extremely important and led him to attend Bible college and do missionary work. John thrived on helping people, was a mentor to many, and loved to “invade people’s space” and get to know them. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved music and woodworking, and was currently working on publishing a book about his life. His wife and children meant the world to him.

He is survived by his wife, Tonja; three children, Joshua, Grace and Jane Blair; two step-children, Ted and Trever Fye; a sister, Rhonda Laub; parents-in-law, Diane and Don Martin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Heather (Chris) Binnall, Donald J. Martin and Lori (Dan) Dorrell; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dogs, Lucy and Ruby.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel T. Blair.
