John J Karalunas

John Joseph Karalunas, 69, of Grant Township, died Saturday, September 26, 2020.

He was born December 7, 1950 in Detroit to the late John and Ann Karalunas. He married Joy Noel Dacon on November 9, 1973 in Hamtramck.

John was employed with Printing Service Inc. for 27 years before his retirement in 1995. He was a master woodcarver of caricatures and best known for his cowboy carvings. He was a member of the National Woodcarvers Association, Metro Wood Carvers and the Blue Water Wood Carvers. John was a proud friend of Bill W. for 31 years. He served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joy; son, John Karalunas; sisters, Mary Ann Webb and Nancy Wozniak; brother, William (Diane) Karalunas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, George Karalunas.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the safety and comfort of others.
