Norma Jean Fleming
Norma Jean Fleming, 80, of Kimball Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born August 26, 1931 in Yale to the late Harry and Maude Ostrander.
Norma loved life and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with her family, had a love for animals and opened her heart to all. She was the light of so many people’s lives and was never judgmental. You only needed to meet her once to become an immediate friend and she was called “mom” and “grandma” to most people. She belonged to Moose Lodge #158 and Eagles Lodge #3702
She is survived by five children, Joseph (Rebecca) Fleming, Kathy (Roderick) Sloan, Eson (Joanne) Fleming Jr., Bea (Larry) Hoist and Ann (Marvin) Bowen Jr.; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one great great grandson; and many nieces, nephews and friends including special friends, Carol, Patti and Jon.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eson Fleming Sr. and her son, R.D. Fleming.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A Women of the Moose Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Diane VanMarter will officiate.
Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joe, Chais, Robert and Eson Fleming III, John and Tim Houle, Marvin Bowen III, Derick and Larry Hoist Jr.
Memorials may be made to Blue Water Humane Society or Betty Kearn’s Little Black Dress for Cancer.
