Larry D Landschoot

Larry David Landschoot, 73, of Kimball Township, died on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

He was born January 14, 1949 in St. Clair to the late Robert and Leanore Landschoot.

Larry was a life-long resident of St. Clair. While attending St. Mary’s Catholic School in St. Clair, he worked part time on the local Pauly and Schweihofer farms. There he developed a strong work ethic, life-long friends and countless stories to retell. Larry established L.D. Landschoot & Son Construction, which he operated for over 30 years. He worked hard and celebrated life harder. Larry was also known for his cooking and entertaining friends and family. He enjoyed vacationing and acting like he was Anthony Bourdain.

He is survived by his first wife, Jean; their children, Michael (Jennifer) Landschoot and Jennifer (Cory) Smith; five grandchildren, Alexa Landschoot, Michael Landschoot Jr., Carson Landschoot, Riley Smith and Jackson Smith, all of whom he loved watching grow into young adults and recognizing some of his likenesses. He is also survived by his siblings, Mark Landschoot and Bev Hering; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a luncheon honoring Larry’s life on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 12 noon at the Voyageur restaurant in St. Clair, where Larry often enjoyed holding court.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Hospice Home.
