Robert E. Rich Sr., 96, of Clarkston, formerly of Marysville, died Sunday, July 9, 2023.
He was born November 28, 1926 in Detroit to the late Emil and Esta Rich. He married Nancy Dvorak on July 7, 1976 in Flat Rock. She died August 31, 2009.
Mr. Rich served in the U.S. Army and was a proud veteran of the Korean War. Afterwards, he spent his career driving trucks for various companies. He enjoyed walking and biking for miles and became fast friends with anyone he met.
He is survived by five children, Robert Rich, Ann (Eric) Ottenbacher, Lara Rich, Mark Rich and Louis (Michelle) Rich; his children’s mother, Therese Rich; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Louise.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home, 1200 Michigan Avenue, Marysville, MI.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Dr. Joseph Baunoch will officiate. Friends and family may view the livestream of the service by visiting Robert's obituary page on the funeral home website
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Pallbearers will be Robert, Lara, Mark, Louis and Matthew Rich and Eric Ottenbacher. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veteran Honor Guard.
