Russell DeFrain

Russell Fredrick “Fred” DeFrain, 87, of Port Huron Township, died Friday, September 22, 2023.

He was born June 20, 1936 in Harbor Beach to the late Russell L. and Gladys A. DeFrain. He married Marilyn Miller on June 13, 1958 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Port Huron.

Mr. DeFrain was employed with Mueller Brass for nearly 40 years prior to his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army. He was active in competitive archery in his 20’s and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching the Port Huron Flags hockey team.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three children, Karen A. Reif, Robert F. (Astrid) DeFrain and Richard L. (Patricia) DeFrain; five grandchildren; and two brothers, Norman and Douglas DeFrain.

Private graveside services will be held in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.
