Rosemary Stover
Rosemary Stover, 97, of Kimball, died Monday, January 8, 2024.
She was born May 15, 1926 in Los Angeles, California to the late Harry and Frances Rebbeck. She met her future husband, a handsome Marine named Harold R. “Smokey” Stover, at a New Year’s Eve dance in California and they were married on September 6, 1946 in Roscommon. After 64 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on September 28, 2010.
Rosemary worked as a lunch supervisor and then in the kitchens for many years at various Port Huron Area schools. She was a talented crafter who especially enjoyed china painting, knitting, crocheting and sewing. Rosemary and Smokey loved square dancing, were longtime members of VFW May O’Brien Post 8465 and spent many years as “Winter Texans” in Mission, Texas. She was a lifelong Catholic and currently attended St. Stephen Catholic Church.
Rosemary is survived by four children, James Stover, Joy Gilbert, Cathy (Stan) Jezierski and Brian Stover; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon; and sister, Amy (John) Correll.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Stover will lie in state from 10:30 until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2023 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.
Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township. Pallbearers will be Rosemary’s family.
