Pastor Cletus R Snellenberger

October 14th, 1936 to August 10th, 2025

Pastor Cletus R. Snellenberger, 88, of Fort Gratiot, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 10, 2025.

He was born October 14, 1936 in Clay City, Indiana to the late Revelle and Floy Snellenberger. He accepted the Lord as a teenager and remained a faithful servant throughout his life. Cletus was united in marriage to Carol McWilliams on June 19, 1956 and together they built a home rooted in love, faith, and service.

Cletus started his working career with IBM where he was employed for 22 years. He then felt called to full-time ministry at Faith Gospel Tabernacle in Bad Axe, Michigan, before attending Rhema Bible School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for further training. He and his wife, Carol, then returned to Port Huron in 1980 and pastored Life of Faith Fellowship Church in Port Huron from 1980 to 1990. He never met a stranger and was more than willing to tell you about what Jesus could do and pray right there on the spot for you. So many have said through the years, “I’ve never had a pastor like Cletus.” After leaving Port Huron, Cletus continued a lifelong ministry helping start up churches, going on countless mission trips, and never missing the opportunity to plant the seeds of the gospel and share his love for Jesus wherever he went.

Cletus will be remembered most for his love of the Lord, scripture and family, his pastoral heart and gentle spirit, his enjoyment of freighters, and taking an afternoon drive. Our family takes comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of the Savior, reunited with loved ones and at peace. "Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord” (Matt. 25:23).

He is survived by his wife, Carol, to whom he was married just a few months shy of 70 years; his three children, Candis (Russ) Lavender, Christopher (Angela) Snellenberger, and Caremy (Sonya) Snellenberger; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and his sister, Mazie. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Snellenberger; and sister, Loretta Wellman.

A homegoing and witness to the resurrection service celebrating his life and ministry will take place in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2025, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Reverend Dr. Tom Seppo will officiate.

Burial will be in Sink Cemetery, Clay City, Indiana on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family. To send condolences, visit pollockrandall.com.
