Doris I Kidd

February 3rd, 1925 to October 25th, 2014

Doris I. Kidd, 89, of Port Huron, died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born February 3, 1925 in Port Huron to the late Emerson and Elizabeth Kelly. She married Curtis L. Kidd on May 19, 1945 in Junction City, Kansas. He died on February 28, 1996.

Mrs. Kidd owned and operated the Dog ’N Suds drive-in restaurant with her husband. She also was a cook for many years at area restaurants. Over the course of her life, she helped to raise many children who affectionately called her Grandma Do-Do. She was a long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed doing puzzles.

She is survived by five daughters, Sandra (Daniel) Carr, Carol Laubach, Susan (Steven) Dresser, Debra (Pedro) Ruiz and Marilyn (Bryan) Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a brother, David (Phyllis) Kelley; sister, Janet VanLuven; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in St. Paul Lutheran Church with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Reverend Robin Abbott will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
