Lyell Schneider

Lyell Arthur Schneider, 86, of Port Huron Township, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 29, 2017.

He was born April 13, 1931 in Marine City to the late Arthur and Viola Schneider. He married his high school sweetheart Irma Runk on July 23, 1949 in Marine City.

Early in his career, Lyell sailed on the Great Lakes. He was an insurance agent for Allstate Insurance Company for 45 years and recently was an A-1 Bailbonds Representative. He was a member and past president of the Port Huron Kiwanis Club and a George F. Hixon Fellow. He enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He also belonged to Grace Ministry Center, Gideons International, the Elks Club and was a volunteer with Read for Life at Woodrow Wilson School.

He is survived by his wife, Irma; sons, David (Kimberly) Schneider, Robert (Muriel) Schneider, John (Sandra) Schneider and Thomas Schneider; grandchildren, Jennifer (Greg) Bonutti, Brian Schneider, Kevin (Jessica) Schneider, Christopher (Michelle) Schneider, Matthew Schneider, Bradley Schneider, Grace Schneider and Steven Schneider; and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Monday and from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in St. Martin Lutheran Church, Port Huron with visitation beginning at 9:30 am. The Reverend Dr. Thomas Seppo and Reverend Mitch Olson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.

Memorials may be made to the Port Huron Kiwanis Club, Youth for Christ East Michigan or Operation Transformation.
