James M Pettengill
James M. Pettengill, 54, of Marysville, died suddenly from cancer on Saturday, March 1, 2014.
He was born December 19, 1959 in Port Huron to Susan and the late James Pettengill.
Jim was an accomplished artist who painted in oils and drew in pen & ink. He was employed as a graphic artist with the Imprint House. His lifelong love of boating began as a six year old learning to dock the first of many family boats. This love continued his entire life. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, which always held a special place in his heart. Jim was a past governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose and a member of Lodge #158. He was also a member of Black River Boat Club.
He is survived by his mother, Susan Pettengill; partner, Bruce Hoppenworth; his niece, Krysta Pettengill (finace, Nick Hoover); his nephew, Jared Pettengill; aunt and uncle, Richard and Joyce Pettengill; and many friends that he considered family. He was preceded in death by his father, James, and brother, Stephen Pettengill.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Jim will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in First United Methodist Church. The Reverend William Wright will officiate.
